The Yayi Worldwide Support Initiative (YWSI) has extended its medical outreach to General Hospital, Abeokuta, providing financial assistance to at least 25 patients to help offset medication costs and medical bills.
The intervention took place on Thursday, October 8, 2026, as the initiative continued its humanitarian programme following an earlier outreach at General Hospital, Ilaro, where it reportedly supported at least 23 patients on September 29.

The beneficiaries at the Abeokuta facility were drawn from different wards and were receiving treatment for various health conditions, including kidney disease, intestinal obstruction, septicemia, urosepsis, sickle cell disease, bone fractures, diabetes, meningitis, bronchopneumonia, convulsions, electrical burns and injuries sustained in road accidents.
According to the organisers, the financial assistance was intended to ease some of the immediate financial pressures facing the patients and support their ongoing treatment.
The delegation was received by members of the hospital’s management team, including Chief Medical Director, Dr. Bababunmi Osinaike; Head of Clinical Services, Dr. Samuel Jameson; and Head of Social Workers, Mrs. Owolabi Adesola.

The team reportedly facilitated visits to different wards and helped the delegates reach patients requiring assistance.
The organisers said the hospital management appreciated the intervention and offered prayers for the group’s continued efforts to support patients under the facility’s care.
YWSI chair pledges continued humanitarian support:
The initiative’s global chairman, Mr. Tosin Thompson, who is based in California, United States, said he remained committed to the group’s humanitarian objectives, speaking on behalf of its diaspora leadership during a telephone conversation.
Thompson said he was inspired by the philanthropic gestures of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, whom he described as “Ore mekunu” – a Yoruba expression referring to a giver and lover of people in need.
He said YWSI would sustain its efforts to assist vulnerable people and that its diaspora leaders would continue to contribute to the initiative’s humanitarian activities.
Thompson also pledged to follow what he described as Adeola’s example of giving and to continue supporting people in need through the initiative.
Delegation includes actors, volunteers and coordinators:
The delegation comprised members and volunteers representing the group’s Nigerian and diaspora structures. They included Nollywood actresses Wunmi Ajiboye, a member of the welfare team, and Seyi Edun, a volunteer; Mrs. Folake Popoola, assistant treasurer; and Hon. Hassan Owolabi, assistant coordinator.
Others were Titilayo Yakub, popularly known as Iyalaya; Comrade Soyemi Kayode; Yusuph Waheed; Lola Jinijini; Uthman Anuoluwapo, also known as Lujesha; Olori Legacy, popularly known as Mummy Papa; Abiola Simbiat Atinuke; Isaac Ajiboye; Oni Blessing; Olowofela Kolade; Westo Adekunle Adejumo, Mr. Abayomi Ajiboye, and Temitope Ajayi, popularly known as Obailukan, among others.
YWSI said it intended to maintain contact with beneficiaries after the visits and follow their progress as they continue treatment, with the aim of offering further support where possible.
More outreach planned for vulnerable groups:
The initiative said its next humanitarian activities would extend beyond hospital patients to include children in motherless babies’ homes, indigent students and other vulnerable people in need of assistance.
It also reaffirmed its intention to continue supporting Senator Adeola’s governorship ambition and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates in Ogun State ahead of the 2027 elections.
Some beneficiaries reportedly offered prayers for the organisers and expressed support for Adeola’s governorship ambition.
YWSI’s latest intervention builds on its September 29 visit to General Hospital, Ilaro, where the group said it provided financial assistance to 23 patients.
The initiative has presented its activities as part of a continuing programme of community engagement and humanitarian outreach across Ogun State.
The group said it would continue its efforts to support patients and other vulnerable residents while expanding its outreach to additional communities.
