. . . says initiative aligns with Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda on food security

Ogun APC gubernatorial candidate and the Senator representing Ogun West, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, FCA has empowered no fewer than 2,557 farmers across Ogun State with modern agricultural equipment, inputs and cash grants as part of efforts to boost food security and alleviate poverty.

The empowerment programme, which is the second edition under the Senator, was held in Ilaro, Ogun State. Adeola, who chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, said the scheme has begun to yield results, with some beneficiaries already attaining millionaire status from farming.

The lawmaker said the intervention is in furtherance of his promise to his constituents and in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda on Agriculture and Food Security of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Adeola noted that beyond addressing food production challenges, the initiative is designed to make agriculture attractive to youths and reduce poverty at the grassroots.

According to him, items distributed include 10 tractors with full attachments, 250 haulage tricycles, 1,500 knapsack sprayers, 8,000 bags of NPK and Urea fertilisers, 1,000 solar and gasoline-powered water pumps, 1,000 seed planters, 17 power tillers, 25 different types of seeds and seedlings, 100 organic liquid fertilisers, 1,500 units of Agric Enzymes 3X, 2,000 pesticides and assorted farm implements including hoes, cutlasses, shovels and wheelbarrows.

In addition, each of the beneficiaries received a grant of N100,000 to support their farming operations.

The event attracted political leaders and stakeholders across the state, including the All Progressives Congress (APC) deputy governorship candidate, Alhaja Kudirat Abiodun Adegunwa-Balogun; former deputy governor, Alhaja Salmot Badru; wife of the senator, Chief (Mrs) Temitope Adeola; former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Titi Oseni-Shodunke; APC senatorial chairman for Ogun West, Alhaji Mohammed Ekweme; former chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Hon. Sikirulai Ogundele; APC senatorial candidate for Ogun West, Hon. Jimoh Ojugbele; APC House of Representatives candidate for Ado-Odo/Ota Federal Constituency, Seriki Bashorun; Hon. Muftau Ajibola, Chief Olu Agemo and Hon. Bisiriyu Popoola, among others.

Adeola restated his commitment to sustained investment in agriculture, stressing that food security remains central to national development and economic stability.
