2027: My Manifesto, Economic Blueprint Ready, Says Yayi

…Insists track record, not vote buying, will determine victory

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has declared that his manifesto and economic blueprint are ready, assuring residents that his administration would consolidate on the developmental strides of Governor Dapo Abiodun if elected.

Adeola made the declaration during an engagement with members of his New Media Team at his campaign office in Abeokuta, where he said the high expectations surrounding his candidature were driven by his established record of development, strategic interventions and people-centred projects across Ogun State. He noted that he had consistently set high standards in public service and had no intention of lowering them.

The senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District expressed confidence that the 2027 governorship election would be decided by the credibility and performance of individual candidates rather than political party affiliation.

While stressing that he could not induce  voters with money, he maintained that his achievements and interventions had earned him widespread commendation, adding that many people regarded his emergence as the APC candidate as “a round peg in a round hole.”

Responding to criticisms from political opponents, Adeola said he closely follows discussions on social media but remains focused on the task ahead.

He dismissed the attacks as distractions, insisting that he was working tirelessly and expressing confidence that Ogun people would vote based on competence and performance.

He added that his campaign transcends family background or political lineage and pledged to defeat his opponents even in their respective polling units.

The APC candidate also unveiled plans to strengthen his campaign’s digital communication architecture, promising to give the New Media Team a central role in his administration if elected.

He disclosed that he intends to become the first governor in the state to have a dedicated New Media bus in his official convoy alongside the conventional press crew bus. He also promised to establish a well-equipped media office with structured operations, clearly defined responsibilities and remuneration for members of the team.

Adeola urged all members of the New Media Team to actively promote the “Yayi for Governor” campaign platforms across various social media channels.

He revealed that a nationally rated media agencies had been engaged to coordinate the campaign’s communication strategy, stressing that the agency was brought in to complement, rather than replace, the existing media structure.

He added that regular opinion polls and research would be conducted to monitor public perception and guide campaign decisions.

Commending Governor Dapo Abiodun for what he described as remarkable achievements in infrastructure and economic development, Adeola cited Ogun’s emergence as an oil-producing state, the Deep Sea Port project in Ogun Waterside and the influx of industries into the state. He pledged to build on these gains while ensuring that the welfare and aspirations of the people remain one of the focus of his administration.

Also speaking, the Operational Manager of the media agency, Mr. Omoniyi, said the firm would be responsible for information management, public engagement and feedback mechanisms throughout the campaign. He urged members of the New Media Team to remain united, avoid distractions and work collectively to ensure that the Yayi campaign maintains a dominant presence across digital media platforms.
