:Commends Hon. Abudu-Balogun’s role
The Financial Secretary of Ogun state Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Comrade Luqman Adefeso, has commended the Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District and the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), for financing the restoration of electricity to communities in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area.
Adefeso, a prominent indigene of Ogun Waterside, described the intervention as a major relief for residents who had endured more than a decade of darkness, saying the project reflects Senator Adeola’s commitment to extending the dividends of democracy to neglected communities.
According to him, Ogun Waterside had for years suffered neglect, particularly in the provision of basic social amenities, with the prolonged power outage adversely affecting businesses, education and healthcare delivery.
The NUJ Financial Secretary also praised former member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abiodun Abudu-Balogun, popularly known as Action, for his pivotal role in ensuring that the re-electrification of more than 50 communities in the local government and Part of Ijebu East Local Government is getting the necessary attention and finances.
He expressed optimism that the restoration of electricity would boost economic activities in the predominantly agrarian council area, improve the standard of living of residents and attract new investments.
While appreciating the intervention, Adefeso appealed to Senator Adeola to facilitate more developmental projects for Ogun Waterside to further improve the welfare of the people.
He also urged the Federal and Ogun State governments to expedite action on the proposed Ebà oil Exploration and Olokola Deep Sea Port, noting that the projects would unlock the area’s enormous economic potential, create jobs and fast-track socio-economic development in Ogun State.
