The Customs Area Controller of Ogun I Area Command, Deputy Comptroller O.O. Afeni, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the Onipokia of Ipokia Kingdom, Oba Yisa Olaniyan Adelakun, describing the late monarch as a pillar of peace, a custodian of cultural heritage, and a committed advocate of community development.

In a condolence message issued on behalf of the management and officers of the Command and signed by the Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Customs, Z. Chado, Deputy Comptroller Afeni said the late traditional ruler played a significant role in promoting communal harmony and strengthening collaboration between the Nigeria Customs Service and the people of Ipokia Kingdom.

He noted that throughout his reign, the monarch demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the development of Ipokia Kingdom and Ogun State, while fostering mutual understanding that enhanced border security and economic stability in the region.

“We have lost a father, a wise counsellor and a critical stakeholder in our efforts to maintain border security and economic stability. His Royal Majesty was highly instrumental in fostering mutual understanding and synergy between the Nigeria Customs Service and the people of Ipokia. His departure leaves a huge void that will be difficult to fill,” Afeni said.

The Customs Area Controller extended heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Ipokia Traditional Council and the entire people of Ipokia Kingdom over the monarch’s passing.

He prayed that Almighty God would grant the royal family and the people of Ipokia the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and grant the late monarch eternal rest.
