The Ogun State Police Command has dismissed reports circulating in some quarters alleging the imposition of a curfew or restriction of movement across the state, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, said the Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, wishes to categorically debunk the rumours and reassure residents that the security situation in the state remains peaceful and under control.

According to the statement, adequate security personnel and operational assets have been strategically deployed across Ogun State to maintain law and order as well as safeguard lives and property.

The Command urged residents to disregard unverified reports capable of creating unnecessary panic among members of the public and to continue their lawful activities without fear or intimidation.

It further encouraged citizens to remain security conscious and promptly report suspicious movements or any security concerns through the state’s designated emergency response channels.

The police reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and maintaining a secure environment throughout the state.

DSP Babaseyi advised members of the public to rely on official communication channels for security-related information and avoid spreading unconfirmed reports that could undermine public peace.

The statement was issued on May 23, 2026, from the Ogun State Police Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
