Ogun Police Deploy Officers to 72 CBT Centres for 2026 UTME

The Ogun State Police Command has deployed officers and operational assets across 72 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), scheduled to hold from April 16 to 25, 2026.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, on behalf of the command, noting that the examination is organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

According to the command, the deployment forms part of proactive and intelligence-led security measures aimed at guaranteeing a hitch-free exercise across the state. The strategy is designed to ensure visible police presence, early detection of threats, and swift response to any security challenges before, during and after the examination period.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Bode Ojajuni, has directed all Area Commanders in jurisdictions hosting CBT centres to remain on high alert and take full responsibility for security within their areas. They are also mandated to supervise deployed personnel, sustain patrols around examination venues, and work closely with Divisional Police Officers, tactical teams and JAMB officials.

The command warned that examination malpractice, impersonation or any form of disorderly conduct would attract immediate arrest and prosecution.

Ojajuni assured residents of adequate security coverage throughout the examination period and reiterated the command’s commitment to maintaining peace and the integrity of the UTME in Ogun State. He also urged candidates to adhere strictly to examination guidelines and conduct themselves responsibly.

Members of the public were advised to report suspicious activities through the command’s emergency lines, including the Gateway Shield toll-free number 0800 000 9111, as well as other designated contact lines.
