Ogun’s Industrial Expansion Gains Momentum as Sam Pharmaceuticals Launches Ota Factory

​ In a significant move expected to bolster the economic landscape of Ogun State, Sam Pharmaceutical LTD has opened a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Ota, one which is being hailed as a major catalyst for regional industrial growth and job creation.

​Speaking at the grand opening of the Factory, located at Ilo Awela road, Old Toll gate Ota, Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Governor Abiodun emphasized that the multi-million naira investment reinforces Ogun State’s status as Nigeria’s “industrial capital”, noting that the factory is expected to stimulate the local economy by providing high-skilled employment for the youth, creative opportunities for professionals as well as boosting the business ecosystem within the Ota industrial axis.

​According to The Deputy Governor, the facility is not just a win for the private sector in the state, but a strategic asset for the state’s economic self-reliance, by increasing local production capacity, hereby reducing dependence on expensive imported drugs, whilst ensuring medicine security for the Nigerian population.

​”This investment is a clear demonstration of confidence in Ogun State as a preferred destination for pharmaceutical and healthcare investments, clearly aligning with our administrations broader vision of healthcare advancement” She stated.

Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele who informed that the state has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sam Pharmaceuticals, revealed that the partnership will focus on Promoting the local production of essential medicines, Improving warehousing and distribution systems, alongside ensuring a steady supply of health commodities across the state’s healthcare facilities.

While reiterating government’s commitment to maintaining an “enabling environment” through improved infrastructure, security, and policies designed to enhance the ease of doing business in the state, she urged management of Sam Pharmaceuticals to uphold international best standards of safety and quality saying milestone marks another step in the collective vision of building a more prosperous and healthier Ogun State through strong private-sector collaboration.

In his remarks at the Grand Opening of the Factory, the Chairman/CEO of Sam Pharmaceuticals LTD, Mr Amit Bhojwani, said the factory serves as a reminder of the strong foundation and quality that his organization founded 55 years ago is known for, adding that for decades the Pharmaceutical company is a strong though quiet player in Nigeria’s Pharmaceutical space.

He emphasized that the launching was a bold step into limelight, driving innovation and cutting edge formulations that meets the lifestyle requirements of modern Africa, disclosing that the CGME plant has been built in accordance to International Specifications, articulating that this was imperative because Nigerians deserves only the best.

Mr Bhojwani appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Ogun State Government, led by Prince Dapo Abiodun, for supporting the healthcare sector in the country and putting in place policies that enable it thrive, promising that his organization will continue to ensure quality service delivery a legacy that Sam Pharmaceuticals LTD has been known for in Nigeria since its inception in 1971.
