An aspirant for the Ogun State House of Assembly, Olalekan Olatunde Jiboku, has declared his intention to contest the Abeokuta South Constituency II seat in the 2027 general elections, pledging to deliver purposeful and inclusive representation.
Jiboku made his declaration while addressing supporters and residents at Ward 8, where he expressed appreciation for the encouragement received and affirmed his readiness to serve.
Describing his ambition as a call to service rather than a quest for political office, Jiboku said his aspiration is rooted in a desire to make meaningful contributions to the lives of his constituents.
“Today, I stand before you with deep gratitude and a strong sense of purpose as I declare my aspiration to represent Abeokuta South Constituency II in the Ogun State House of Assembly,” he said. “This step reflects my commitment to serve our people with integrity, dedication, and genuine passion.”

He noted that his decision followed wide consultations across the constituency, adding that interactions with residents highlighted pressing concerns, including unemployment, limited economic opportunities, and infrastructural gaps.
Despite the presence of vibrant youths, hardworking traders, and experienced elders, he observed that the constituency continues to face socio-economic challenges requiring deliberate legislative attention.
Jiboku emphasised that representation must transcend occupancy of office, stressing the need for lawmakers to be responsive and impactful.
“True representation is about being a strong voice for the people and ensuring that policies translate into real impact on their daily lives,” he said.
Outlining his priorities, the aspirant listed education, youth empowerment, and support for women and small-scale businesses as key focus areas. He also underscored the importance of skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and innovation in addressing unemployment and driving economic growth.
“Every child deserves quality education, and every young person deserves a fair chance to succeed,” he added, while pledging sustained support for artisans, traders, and women, whom he described as critical drivers of the local economy.
He further assured constituents of his commitment to advocating improved infrastructure, enhanced healthcare access, and sustainable development through strategic collaboration with stakeholders.
Jiboku called for unity among residents, urging them to see his ambition as a collective project aimed at unlocking the full potential of the constituency.
“With your support, prayers, and unity, we can build a future where our people thrive and our constituency reaches its full potential,” he said.
Leaders and Members of the All Progressives Congress APC in Ward 8 , Abeokuta South gave the abeokuta south assembly hopeful a rousing welcome described him as a true son of the soil with several good track records in terms of human capital development.
