The Members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Ogun State Council has Commended Comrade Akinwale Olanrewaju Led Executive for several feats achieved expecially in the area of the projects which have to a large extent turned things around for the crouncil being the cradle of journalism in Nigeria.
This commendation remark was made as a vote of confidence passed by members during the May edition of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, monthly congress held at the Aremo Olusegun Osoba Hall where crucial matters affecting members and the broader community were discussed.
The commendation according to members was in recognition of over sixteen significant projects executed in the council secretariat in the last two-and-a-half-year of the current Executive
The Congress also extended heartfelt congratulations to Governor Dapo Abiodun on his 65th birthday and the sixth anniversary of his administration, highlighting his exemplary governance and achievements that have positively impacted Ogun State.
The successful hosting of the 2024 Gateway Games was praised for elevating the state’s profile, with a recommendation to maintain the newly acquired sporting infrastructure.
Acknowledging the vital role of sports journalists, the Congress commended their efforts in enhancing the visibility and success of the Gateway Games.
Gratitude was also expressed to Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu for his generous donation of solar power systems and equipment for the welfare of NUJ members, as well as to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola Yayi for providing a solar-powered borehole with a water treatment plant to improve community access to clean water.
As the NUJ prepares for its 70th anniversary celebration in June, the Congress recognized the long-standing contributions of the organization to journalism in Nigeria and commended the leadership of National President, Comrade Alhassan Yahya.
The Congress also expressed condolences for the recent losses of Comrade Bukola Agbakaizu and the spouse of Comrade Olusola Oladapo, while emphasizing the importance of health awareness and regular checkups to combat health issues such as cardiac arrest.
In conclusion, by affirming their support for the current administration, the Congress signaled unity and commitment to advancing the objectives of the NUJ and enhancing the welfare of its members.
