Member of the Ogun State House of Assembly representing Ipokia/Idiroko State Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Industry, Trade and Investment, Hon. Otunba Bisi Oyedele (Citiside), has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his commitment to educational advancement through the recent approval upgrading the Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro to a Federal University of Technology.
In a statement issued in Abeokuta, Hon. Oyedele described the President’s assent as “a landmark move that aligns perfectly with the Renewed Hope Agenda and signifies a strategic step toward inclusive development and educational equity in Nigeria.”
According to the lawmaker, the approval does not only mark a historic turning point for Ogun West but also reflects the President’s foresight and dedication to ensuring that all regions benefit equitably from federal infrastructure and academic resources.
“This is a moment of great pride for the people of Ogun West. Mr. President has once again shown that he listens and delivers. The upgrade of Federal Polytechnic Ilaro to a full-fledged Federal University of Technology will open new doors of opportunity for our youth and position the region as a hub for innovation and industrial growth,” Oyedele said.
He also commended the exceptional efforts of the Distinguished Senator representing Ogun West, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola (Yayi), for what he called “a clear demonstration of effective, purposeful, and visionary representation.”
“It is no surprise that this feat was achieved under Senator Adeola’s watch. His legislative commitment, political will, and persistent advocacy made this possible. In just two years, his work has begun correcting decades of neglect, bringing equity, and ensuring Ogun West is no longer left behind,” he added.
Citiside also appreciated the support of other key stakeholders including Governor Dapo Abiodun, the National Assembly, and traditional rulers across Yewaland.
He congratulated the Paramount Ruler of Yewaland and Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, as well as all monarchs and citizens of Ogun West for what he called “a generational victory that will redefine the future of our people.”
