An anonymous tip off from a well meaning neighbour has led to the arrest of one Muraino Lasisi, 47 year old man, for defiling and impregnating a 14 year minor (survivor), name withheld, in Oke-Sokori, Abeokuta, Ogun State contrary to and punishable under section 32 and 33 of Child Rights Laws of Ogun State 2006.
After thorough investigation of the matter, an application for the defendant to be remanded in the Correctional Service for sixty (60) days pending legal advise from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Ministry of Justice, Abeokuta, Ogun State was filed at the magistrate court and granted.
Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo has promised to do a continuous follow up of the matter so justice will be fully served in helping to deter others from towing that line.
“I will ensure the Corps stops all indecent acts regarding minors and others across Ogun State and whoever feels the impunity of contravening such criminal acts definitely will face the full weight of the law” she emphasised.
