Ogun ACOMORAN Inaugurates Kayode Showunmi, Others For Second Term in Office As Chairman

The Ogun State Chapter of Amalgamated Commercial Motorcycle Riders Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), has returned Comrade Kayode Amos Showunmi (JP) for second term in Office after his emergence in the election held at the state secretariat,Pepsi area of Abeokuta.

The Chairman im his inaugural speech assured members of his commitment to advance and surpass his achievements in the first tenure which has not only enhance smooth running of the association but also brought about different initiatives in the activities of the reputable transport Union.

Speaking Further during his inauguration last Wednesday Comrade Showunmi who appreciated the Ogun state Governor Dapo Abiodun and the National President of ACOMORAN, Prince Dr. Adebayo Samsudeen Apelogun (Allrounder), for providing enabling environment and giving the union meaningful advice and leadership, also commended, also commended members of the union in the state for standing by him all through the first term while canvassing for more support as he returned for second term.

“This is not just a personal achievement, but a reflection of the trust you have placed in me,” he stated.

He also charged the new executives under his leadership to remain firm, united and committed, nothing that their emergence during the just concluded election means that the union is trusting them for more work as reward good job is more job.

They also Used the Occasion to honour some of their past members who have paid the supreme price with a moment of a minute silent.

Quoting American author Helen Keller, Showunmi concluded, “Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much,” reinforcing the spirit of collaboration that has defined his leadership.

He reaffirmed the association’s continued support for Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration and assured members of more progressive initiatives in the years ahead.

“This is not just a personal achievement but a collective triumph for every one of us, and it is a reflection of the trust you have placed in me.


I want to also sincerely appreciate our father, our mentor, a caring and compassionate leader, Prince Dr Dapo Abiodun CON The Executive governor of Ogun State, an executive who is concerned with the wellbeing of all his subjects, a leader that makes our day-to-day activities easy, he provides a conducive business atmosphere for all, especially the transportation sector and most importantly the motorcycle section.

” I would like to take a moment to express my deepest appreciation to our beloved National President, Prince Dr. Adebayo Samsudeen Apelogun (Allrounder). His tutelage, guidance, and unwavering support have been the cornerstone of our accomplishments thus far.

“Without his leadership, the milestones we have reached in the past term would have been nothing more than a distant dream. To describe him as a father, mentor, and benefactor is an understatement. His dedication to the welfare of our association and its members has been extraordinary. He said.

“We remain eternally grateful for his open-door policy and constant support, and we hope to continue benefiting from his leadership throughout this new tenure”.

In his remarks, Chairman House Committee on Transportation at the State Assembly Hon. Wasiu igbalaye eulogized the leadership and resilience of ACOMORAN, describing the occasion as a significant milestone in the growth and stability of the association.

While congratulating the Executive, Igbalaye emphasized that leadership is not a mark of superiority, but a call to service and more responsibility.

“Being elected does not indicate your betterment over others,” he said. “It shows your commitment and unwavering dedication towards the development of this great association.”

The lawmaker Congratulated Comrade Kayode Amos Sowunmi, JP, on his re-election as Chairman of ACOMORAN in the state adding that his return to office is a testament to his integrity and effective leadership.

“Sir, I urge you and the new executive to keep the banner flying high so we can continue to see more positive results,” he added.

He therefore called on all road users, especially motorcycle riders, to remain law-abiding and prioritize safety, noting that “life has no duplicate.”

Adeeale Odunlami Organising Sec, Oyekunle Adebayo David Asst. Organising Sec., Akerele Musiliu Akanji Provost 1, Akeem Yusuf Provots 2, and others.

Dignitaries who witnessed the election and inauguration ceremony were, Federal House of Representatives member , representing Abeokuta South, Hon. Afuape Afolabi , Hon. Igbalaye Wasiu, Chairman House Committee on Transportation, Barrister Waheed Salau, National Secretary, Alhaji Idris Muhammed, National Treasurer, Comrade Musa Isiyaku electoral committee., also Deputy National President and others.
