Consequent upon the upcoming Easter Celebration across the globe and the declaration of Friday, 18th and Monday the 21st of April, 2025, the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command, Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo, has ordered a deployment of 2,740 officers and men across the 74 formations of the Corps in Ogun State.
The officers and men According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Dyke Ogbonnaya are to ensure maintenance of law and order while also manning all critical national assets and infrastructure; churches, recreational/relaxation centres; market places; motor parks and other public centres in order to maintain adequate security for the celebrants in and around Ogun State.
The State Commandant has also appointed monitoring teams both in the metropolis and the area/divisional commands to ensure compliance with the deployment.
She has equally enjoined the Area Commanders and Divisional Officers to monitor and ensure strict compliance especially in ensuring that our officers and men join forces with fellow services in maintaining adequate peace and harmony across the State.
Commandant Ekundayo while wishing everyone the best of this season also solicits for actionable intelligence from the public which could lead to taming all forms of insecurity in and around the Gateway State.
“I urge everyone to celebrate calmly and with caution while also shunning all acts capable of causing any public disturbance, unrest and havoc before, during and after the festivities” she added.
