
The Magistrate Court sitting in Ijebu Imusin Magisterial District of Ogun State, sentenced one Abiodun Ajao, 27 years, a mechanic, arrested in Ijebu Imusin by the Ijebu East Central Division,Esure Ijebu Imusin, of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, to 6 years imprisonment.
He was sentenced on a three-count charge of 2 years each for: one, stealing, which contravenes Section 390; two, conversion, which contravenes Section 434 and three, malicious damage, which contravenes Section 451 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State.
The defendant, Abiodun Ajao, pleaded guilty to the three-count charges before him and was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment on each count charge which are to run consecutively.
Meanwhile, note that on Saturday, the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo, had ordered a full scale investigation into the matter which involved an Honda Accord (EOD) car (registration number withheld) for further and proper action to be taken on the matter.
Furtherance to the investigation, the defendant, Abiodun Ajao, was arraigned at an Ijebu Imusin Magisterial Court, on Monday, December 30th, 2024 wherein the defendant pleaded guilty to the three-count charges and was sentenced accordingly.
