… honoured members with awards
One of the leading Social Clubs in Nigeria, Neem Gents Club, Abeokuta has celebrated her 2024 End of the Year Party with picnic where families and friends of the club had fun, wine and dined together.
The event which was held in Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta featured presentation of awards to members who have distinguished themselves to be worthy ambassadors of the club.
The President of the Club, Gent Sobowale Jonathan while Speaking with newsbarrelng reporter, said that the event was an annual gathering of the club members and their families which symbolises love and unity of purpose.
Gent Sobolawale maintained that the club which was founded by like-minds will be celebrating her 5th Anniversary in the 2025 while saying that as the pioneer president, the club has achieved great feats, touched so many lives in terms philantropical gestures, community services and members have been there for one another on many occasions.
According to him ” Glory be to God. I am one of the founding member of the club, and I am opportuned to be the president of the club, the pioneer president of the club.
” It is end of the year, and it is December, Club members and their families are here to enjoy, socialise and then relate with one another and friends.
“Today’s gathering have great impact, because this is about socializing. So when you talk about socializing, It’s about relating your family with another family entirely that you might not have met before or before opportuned to sit together. So it’s about bringing love and unity amongst brethren, among brothers, among friends you know your family, getting to meet another family. So it’s love all the way.
” I want to appreciate our members both home and abroad, for their contributions, their support, advice towards the club.
“We are four years now, and by God’s ways, next year we are celebrating our fifth year elaborately with the induction of new members.
A diaspora member of the club neem, Gent Adeola. who travelled down from United Kingdom to attend the family reunion recalled how the club was birthed during the COVID 19 pandemic where they gatthered as friends under a tree in Olomore area of Abeokuta and now the club is now one to reckon with both home and abroad.
He noted the with mission statement of the club which “success is our mission, the club has continued to grow even beyond imagination.
Some wives of the club members which included,the wife of the president , Mrs Sobowale, the wife of the PRO, Mrs Olufunke Ogunkunle, Mrs Ashiru Oluwatoyin assured the club of their continued supports by being a backbone to their husbands.
They described the club members as responsible husbands and fathers which is an indication that the club activities have in no way affeceted their responsibilities at home.
Some of the members recognised with awards were Gent Jonathan Sobowale, Gent Adewale Bankole, Gent Taofeek Ogunkunle, Gent Olatunji Ashiru.
Others are Gent Adeola Ojomo, Gent Moshood Buhari among others.
