…Promises Improved professionalism in Coming Years
The Annual Summit of the Armed Squad Unit, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, was held on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024 at the Ogun NSCDC Cooperative Building, Owu Dekudu Village, off Kobape Road, Abeokuta.
The event which was hosted by the State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, Commandant Remilekun Omolade Ekundayo, and attended by various eminent personalities across the State addressed several professional issues through its lectures centering on: collaboration, synergy, commitment and professionalism in the act of arms bearing.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon.(Arc.) Oludaisi Olusegun Elemide PhD, was the Special Guest of Honour and he was also flanked by the Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Security, AIG. Olusola Subair (Rtd.) at the event.
Other eminent personalities at the event include but not limited to: the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, Professor AO Adeogun; the Chief Security Officer of TASUED, Dr. Moses Ogundeji; Col. Charles Adejoro, the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director, KingFord Security Limited; and Mr.Kingsley Iwuoha, of V-Peg Energy and Gas Limited, Sagamu Interchange, Ogun State, amongst others.
Others include: the former Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, National Headquarters, Abuja, Professor John Adewale Abolurin OFR, who was ably represented by Commandant ST Adeyinka; the Civil Defence College Provost, ACG. Niyi Liad Ajibola ably represented by DCC Johnson Fabiyi; the former Head of Training, Ogun NSCDC, Pastor Tajudeen Solaja amongst others.
Also at the event are: Asiwaju-Aje Ibrahim Abiodun, representing the Olu of Obada-Oko; His Royal Highness Oba Adedotun Oduneye Odusanya, the Olu of Odosenlu; His Royal Highness Oba Adedotun Adetunji Lawrence, the Onikopa of Orile-Ikopa; His Royal Highness Oba Abdulgafar Olasunkanmi Gbadewolu Tijjani, the Alawowo of Awowo Kingdom.
Some of the representatives from sister security agencies include: Lt. M. Mukthar, representing the 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamala, Abeokuta; Commander Teslim Adedeji from Trace; CSP Sodeke (Rtd), Head of Intelligence, Ogun State Security Network Agency (Amotekun); Alhaji Adepoju representing Mrs. Olaoti Odusola, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Olas Cafe.
The guest speakers include: CSP Victor Kalejaye, the Officer in Charge, Monitoring, Nigerian Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, who also dealt with the topic: “Building Partnership Enhancing Security Through Inter-Agency Cooperation”.
The second guest speaker was DCC (Dr.) AO Ogungbemi and head of Operations, Federal Road Safety Corps, Ogun State Command Headquarters, Abeokuta, with the topic: “Integrating Security Operations through Inter-Agency Conflict Management”.
The last lecture was delivered by amiable Deputy Commandant of Corps Amos Adeoye Ajayi, Head, Ogun NSCDC Annex, GTB, Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The Special Guest of Honour joined others in the cutting of the 2024!Armed Squad Unit’s commemorative cake.
More so, the event seized the opportunity of this year’s event to award and recognize high performing officers and men of the Corps and other stakeholders across the State for their support, commitment and drive in improving the lots of Civil Defence Corps in Ogun State.
