As part of the preparations of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming Local government election, Yewa North local government has inaugurated its Campaign Council.
Speaking with newsmen, the Commissioner for Housing, Hon. Jamiu Akande Omoniyi noted that the flag off is a testament that the party is ready for election at all levels, adding that the general believe that the ruling party would write the results is false.
Jagunmolu Jamiu Akande Omoniyi, who was earlier inaugurated as one of the frontliners of the campaign added that all efforts are geared towards ensuring a smooth campaign, and subsequent victory at the polls.
The chairman of the party in the local government, Adeosun Adekunle lauded the state governor, Dapo Abiodun for providing the enabling environment for local government to thrive.
He noted that the local government decided to choose the youthful chairmanship candidate as part of its inclusive policy, saying that the future of the country lies with the engagement of the youth constituency.
Meanwhile, the party candidate in the election, Dr. Olusola Akinbode emphasized that his campaign will be entrusted on Agriculture, saying that the local government will be the food basket of the state, if elected.
Former Majority Leader at the Ogun State House of Assembly Hon Sunday Kojeku is the Director General of the Campaign Council.
Committees inaugurated includes, Mobilization committee headed by all the local government Exco, and Women Affairs Committee Co-chair by Mrs Folasade Ogunola
Others includes, Organising and Special Duties to be headed by Chief Bello Jimoh, while Beula Olaade will Co-chair the Students Affairs Committee.
Olumide Abiodun, is to Chair the Communication and Publicity Committee, just as Chief Sola Adeyemi is saddled with Election Management Desk, while the Security committee will be headed by Wasiu Olaleye
