Pelican Valley Woos Diaspora Investors At Canada Trade Mission

By News Barrel on September 30, 2024 News

Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited has urged Nigerians in diaspora to invest in real estate projects back home, particularly in its flagship range of products such as the Ecostay Apartments.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited, Ambassador (Dr) Babatunde Adeyemo, stated this during the Canada Trade Mission ’24 held at the Emerald Banquet Hall, Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada on Monday, September 30th.

Adeyemo, who headlined the mission organised by Solteque Group, disclosed that the company was fully prepared to handle the interests of Nigerians living abroad, who have so far shown interests in the Pelican Valley projects since he arrived in Canada on Friday.

Adeyemo also told participants at the opening session of the Trade Mission that the Ecostay Apartments, which was formmaly launched on September 11, 2024, was conceived and designed largely with the diaspora in mind.

He told the culture, business and investment-driven gathering that the Pelican Valley has incorporated cutting-edge eco-friendly technologies, sustainable materials, innovative design principles to minimise carbon footprint and to create a truly befitting eco-friendly environment for them back home.

According to him, the firm will guide the investors on the salient indexes, bubble traps and pitfalls to watch out for in Nigeria’s real estate sector.

The essence is to encourage more people in diaspora and the Nigerian government to engage in purpose-driven remittance by way of foreign and non-oil investment, in a bid to help create wealth, job opportunities, bridge the widening housing deficit, while strengthening the nation’s foreign exchange and building solid retirement plans back home for the diasporans.

Adeyemo said: “Our flagship which is the Ecostay Apartments began as an extension of Pelican Brief Estate. It is more than just a place to live. The apartments are a statement of intent and deliberateness. We have incorporated cutting-edge eco-friendly technologies, sustainable materials and innovative design principles to minimise our carbon footprint. In fact, every detail has been carefully considered to create a truly befitting eco-friendly environment.

“Imagine a life where every day feels like a retreat and a community that prioritises the planet, without compromising on luxury.

“Let me specifically highlight some of the salient features to treasure at the Pelican’s Ecostay Apartments. Our estate, which has a full government approved-layout and building approvals, is also fortified with armed security guards. It is provided with energised 33 KVA/500 KV public power, equipped with 90 percent industrial solar street lights and paved with interlocked roads.

“Our unique residential project also has provisions for a purpose-built lounge, bar and mini club; basketball, lawn tennis, badminton courts, worship centers, as well as swimming pool. a mini zoo where camels, peacocks and other delightful animals are equally on display. In addition, the estate has a close proximity to our Greenish Acres Farm, where organic and fresh meals are processed. Above all, Pelican’s Ecostay Apartments is easily accessible less than 20 minutes drive to the Abeokuta Central Business District, the new train station and also, we are just a 50 minutes drive, to the Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, Lagos.

“The comfort and well-being of our clients are of paramount importance to us. The Pelican Ecostay Apartments is meant to take our clients away from the hustle and bustle of Lagos and Abeokuta metropolis and bring them to a serene area which is hundred percent eco friendly. By the grace of God, we are looking forward to turning it into tourist attractions and plans are underway to host the first weekly show there in the next 18 or 24 months.

“Interestingly, we have received another government approval for the extension of the Pelican Brief Estate. We are extending it by another 600 plots and even with the extension, we are planning a closure on land sales. We want to continue to add value by building more tastefully finished apartments for sales instead of selling lands. Hopefully in about a month or two, we will stop selling lands in Pelican Brief. We will concentrate on building apartments for sale at the Ecostay Apartments.

“So, this is the right opportunity for our brothers and sisters in diaspora to pick interest in our real estate products and invest in any of them. It has high ROI. We have been in the business for 10 years officially. We have no record of any negative case or review, we have never been involved in unethical business practices and we have never even been to any court for any case. We have not been to the police station either. To crown it all, God has really delivered the project for us, including the recent launch of the Ecostay Apartments.

“It is worth mentioning again that our housing repayment plan offers a zero percent interest rate, with no variations or hidden charges. However, default charges may be incurred if payments are not made as scheduled. But let me assure our clients and prospective clients that they will enjoy it more and have access to a range of other exclusive benefits and amenities.”

Earlier, the Deputy Mayor, City of Brampton, Harkirat Singh, who is passionate about city building, politics, and addressing climate change, declared the trade mission open, and wished the participating vendors and guests successful outings. The Baba Oba of Orile Itesi land, Ogun State (Nigeria), Chief Olusegun Ajala, heralded it with his prayer of blessings.

In his speech, Chief Olawale Olaleye, who is the Convener of the mission under the auspices of Solteque Group Inc. Canada and Solteque Nigeria Limited, hailed the trade mission as a vibrant platform for Nigeria, particularly the South-West geopolitical zone to unlock her significant economic opportunities for the people.

Chief Olawale said the initiative will feature rich exhibitions of traditional fabrics, indigenous mouth watering cuisine, and promising real estate ventures, all designed to foster trade relationships and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Canada.

“Today, we come together to showcase the vibrant textiles, delectable cuisines, promising real estate opportunities and investment portfolios that define our region. This mission is not merely about trade, it’s a vibrant exchange of ideas, cultures, and aspirations that strengthen the bonds between our communities.

“Over the next few days, I encourage you to explore the unique artistry of our fabrics, indulge in the diverse flavours of our foods and discover the potential of our real estate market. Each exhibit, each conversation, and each connection is an opportunity to forge partnerships that can lead to mutual growth and understanding,” Chief Olaleye said.

In attendance at the opening session are some Canadian government functionaries, Prof. Wole Akinremi, a Soil Physicist at the University of Manitoba, the National Chairman, Nigerian and Canadian Business Networks, King Wale Adesanya, President, Africa Trade and Export Supermarket Canada, Dr. Olufemi Adegun, the Baba Oba of Orile Itesi land; Chief Olusegun Ajala, Aare Onakanfo of Orile Itesi land, Chief Lukeman Akinyemi and President of Egba Yewa Dynamics of Canada, Prince Olabode Fajobi.

The corporate establishments in attendance as vendors alongside Pelican Valley Nigeria Limited are ATESCA, PJ Attires, Primerica and Wura Fabrics.
