The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Adeola Olamilekan popularly known as Yayi has commenced the distribution of Ramadan gifts for Muslim faithful.
The Senator in a statement signed by his Chief of Staff and media adviser, Kayode Odunaro noted that the gifts were part of his representative functions and also meant to extend hands of fellowship to Muslims as the religion doctrines lay more emphasis on sharing and giving as an act that is cherished by God.
According to Senator Yayi, the distribution of such gifts at festive and unique periods is a tradition he has kept over the years as a legislator.
The Ramadan package for Muslims that will be distributed to various Muslim organizations and mosques for their members as well as individuals in the next one week includes 20,000 bags of rice, hampers, cash grants and various quantities of provisions for breaking fast like sugar,beverages and other items.
Senator Adeola had earlier felicitated with Muslims at the commencement of fasting 8 days ago while calling on them for prayers for the nation and the leadership as part of the fasting exercise.
