The Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) is set to host an array of distinguished personalities, led by Governor Dapo Abiodun and President of the Institute, Dr Ike Neliaku, at the second edition of its signature cultural and social event, Owanbe Nite.
The event, scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026, at the Kayode Egbetokun Event Centre, Abeokuta, is expected to attract top government functionaries, traditional rulers, captains of industry, communication professionals, business leaders and other prominent personalities from within and outside the state.
With the theme, *”Ariya Galore: Celebrating the Spirit of Oneness,”* the second edition promises an evening of cultural displays, entertainment, networking, recognition and celebration, while providing a platform for strengthening relationships and promoting Ogun State’s rich cultural heritage.
Among other notable personalities expected at the event are Chief Strategist of Chain Reactions Africa, Mr Israel Jaiye Opayemi; Provost of the Federal College of Education, Abeokuta, Dr Joseph Bankole Filani; Ogun State Head of Service, Mr Olanrewaju Isiak Saka; and Dr Nkechi Ali-Balogun.
The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, and the Towulade of Akinale, Oba Oluseyi Adediran, are also expected alongside other traditional rulers and stakeholders.
Speaking ahead of the event, Chairman of Ogun NIPR, Mrs Oluwaseun Boye, described Owanbe Nite as a strategic initiative to demonstrate the broader relevance of public relations through cultural expression, social interaction and relationship-building.
Boye explained that the event transcends conventional professional gatherings, offering a platform to celebrate identity, promote cultural heritage and foster meaningful connections through music, dance, traditional cuisines and shared experiences.
She noted that effective relationship-building was not limited to boardrooms and conference halls but could also be strengthened through social and cultural platforms that bring people together.
According to her, the theme, *”Ariya Galore: Celebrating the Spirit of Oneness,”* reflects the chapter’s commitment to promoting unity among the people of Ogun State while celebrating their cultural diversity.
She added that the programme would feature performances representing the state’s three senatorial districts, recognition of deserving members of the chapter and the unveiling of the *Chronicles Magazine*, documenting the achievements of the current executive as its four-year tenure draws to a close.
The NIPR chairman said the activities were designed to celebrate the chapter’s accomplishments, recognise outstanding contributions and further strengthen the bond among public relations practitioners and other stakeholders.
The maiden edition of Owanbe Nite introduced a distinctive cultural dimension to the chapter’s end-of-year activities, with the second edition expected to build on that foundation through renewed emphasis on innovation, cultural promotion, stakeholder engagement and the advancement of public relations beyond its traditional boundaries.
According to the Chairman of the 2026 Planning Committee, Mrs Adijat Olaleye, the red carpet session will commence at 3:00 p.m., while the main event is scheduled to begin at 4:00 p.m.
