…builds single driver network for passenger rides, food and parcel delivery*
Nigeria’s mobility and delivery market is set to witness a boost as QServe Logistics & Transportation Limited, an indigenous technology company, formally launches its QServe platform in Ogun State, Nigeria on Monday, 14 September 2026, combining food delivery, passenger rides and parcel pickup on a single driver network.
The model is designed to keep one pool of drivers productive across different periods of the working day, particularly in markets where passengers’ demands alone may not provide consistent trips outside peak commuting hours.
Available on iOS, Android and the web, QServe allows customers to order food from restaurants, book passenger trips or send parcels from the same platform. Qserve is a shopping service platorm covering participating stores, restaurants and pharmacies operating through the same delivery infrastructure, with jobs allocated across the different services through a unified dispatch system.
According to the Co-Founder of Qserve, Dr. Luqman Awoniyi, the company’s service model was developed partly in response to the economics of operating mobility services outside Nigeria’s largest metropolitan markets, where passenger demand vary considerably during the day. Under the QServe model, a driver could, for instance, complete a passenger trip during the morning commute, deliver a restaurant order around lunchtime and handle a parcel delivery later in the afternoon.
Speaking ahead of the launch, Dr Luqman Awoniyi, said the decision to build a unified network rather than separate platforms for individual services was fundamental to the company’s strategy. “We did not build a ride-hailing app and then bolt food onto it. We built one dispatch system, and food, rides and parcels all pass through same platform because outside Lagos, the day simply does not give a driver enough passenger trips to fill it.
“A driver who signs on at seven in the morning should not be sitting idle at eleven waiting for the evening rush. It also means a restaurant does not have to recruit and manage its own dispatch riders, and a customer does not need three applications on one phone,” Awoniyi stated.
*Cars, Motorcycles and Tricycles*
For passenger transportation, customers can request a car, motorcycle or tricycle and are matched according to their selected vehicle category.
QServe also supports shared journeys for eligible car and tricycle trips, allowing passengers travelling along similar routes to share a ride. Customers can also schedule eligible trips and orders in advance.
Payments can be made by cash, card or bank transfer. The company said cash payment was incorporated into the platform from the outset. According to Awoniyi, the approach reflects QServe’s intention to design around Nigerian consumer behaviour providing seamless payment option.
*Safety and Live Journey*
Tracking QServe has also incorporated a number of safety and verification features into its passenger and driver applications.
Every active trip and delivery can be followed on a live map. Customers can generate a temporary tracking link and share it with a relative or other trusted person, who can follow the journey through a web browser without installing the QServe application. The link can subsequently be withdrawn and is designed to expire.
The company said drivers must complete verification requirements before being permitted to accept passenger trips, including review of their driving licence, vehicle documentation and insurance. Where required documentation expires, eligibility for passenger trips can be suspended pending renewal and verification.
Both the customer and driver applications also include an SOS function linked to the user’s live location and stored emergency contacts.
Customers can rate drivers after completed jobs, while significant deviations from an expected journey route can generate an alert for review by the company’s operations team.
“The same thinking we applied to payments applies to safety, every trip and delivery sits on a live map, and a customer can send a link to a relative who does not have the app and let them follow the journey in a browser. That link expires and can be withdrawn.” Dr Awoniyi further stated.
*One Ecosystem for Customers, Drivers and Merchants*
Restaurants and participating shops manage their menus and incoming orders through a dedicated QServe merchant application, which provides a live order queue.
Drivers operate through a separate application providing job allocation, navigation, earnings tracking, referrals and in-app support.
Despite the separate interfaces for customers, merchants and drivers, the company said the underlying services operate within the same QServe ecosystem and dispatch infrastructure.
*Ogun State as Launch Market*
Speaking on the company’s expansion plans, QServe Co-Founder Saheed Awoniyi said Ogun State would serve as the first market in a broader expansion strategy. “A merchant in one town and a merchant in another are running the same business with different roads around them. What changes between the two is the routing and the addresses, not the product,” he said.
“We built something we could take into a new state by signing up drivers and merchants rather than starting again. Ogun State is where we prove it works, and what we learn here is what we carry into the next state.”
The company said its immediate priority following the September launch would be to build sufficient driver, merchant and customer participation in Ogun State while using operational data and feedback to refine the service before expansion into additional markets.
For QServe, the decision to begin in Ogun rather than launch simultaneously across several major Nigerian cities is deliberate: the company intends to test whether combining several categories of local demand on one driver network can create a more sustainable operating model in markets where any single category may not generate sufficient activity throughout the day.
