Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Saapade, has expressed profound appreciation to Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his prompt intervention and exemplary leadership that led to the successful rescue of the five students abducted from the institution.
The institution also commended the Ogun State Police Command, other security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders and stakeholders for their collaborative efforts, professionalism and unwavering support throughout the rescue operation, which culminated in the safe return of the students.
The commendation was contained in a statement signed by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr. Sanni Kehinde Oseni, who described the successful rescue as a demonstration of purposeful leadership, effective inter-agency collaboration and a shared commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
Oseni specifically lauded the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as other security agencies, for their courage, intelligence gathering and dedication during the operation.
He also appreciated the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, for his support, while acknowledging the invaluable roles played by traditional rulers, community leaders and other stakeholders who stood by the institution during the difficult period.

According to the Rector, the encouragement and coordinated efforts of all those involved gave hope to the affected families and the entire Polytechnic community, while reaffirming public confidence in the state’s security architecture.
He noted that the successful operation underscored the importance of cooperation among government, security agencies and local communities in addressing security challenges.
Oseni also thanked Almighty God for preserving the lives of the rescued students and granting wisdom, strength and success to everyone involved in the rescue mission.
He prayed for continued peace, security and progress in Ogun State and urged sustained support for security agencies in their efforts to protect lives and property across the state.
