Culture, royalty and entertainment came alive in grand style as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Oni Electronics, Chief Mrs. Florence Oni-Quadri, was installed as the Moraje of Owu Kingdom as part of activities marking the fourth coronation anniversary of the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Saka Adelola Matemilola.
The colourful installation ceremony, held at the historic Olowu Palace in Abeokuta, attracted an array of traditional rulers, high chiefs, captains of industry, business associates, family members and admirers, who gathered to witness the conferment of one of the kingdom’s prestigious traditional titles.
Amid rich displays of Owu cultural heritage, royal pageantry and colourful traditional rites, the Olowu administered the oath of office and allegiance, officially investing Oni-Quadri as the Moraje of Owu Kingdom.
The ceremony was marked by resplendent cultural performances, traditional music and enthusiastic cheers from guests who celebrated the new chief.
Speaking at the event, Oba Matemilola described the honour as well deserved, commending Oni-Quadri for her outstanding entrepreneurial accomplishments, philanthropy and significant contributions to the economic growth of Egbaland and beyond.
He expressed confidence that her new role would further strengthen her commitment to community development and the promotion of the kingdom’s cherished values.
The celebration continued with a lavish reception featuring captivating performances by renowned Islamic and Juju musicians, creating an atmosphere of merriment and cultural elegance.
The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Michael Adedotun Gbadebo, joined other eminent traditional rulers, dignitaries and guests in celebrating the new Moraje.
Many of the dignitaries described Oni-Quadri as a woman of integrity, industry and compassion, noting that the honour was a fitting recognition of her unwavering commitment to humanitarian service, economic empowerment and the advancement of society.
An emotional Oni-Quadri expressed profound gratitude to God, the Olowu-in-Council and the people of Owu Kingdom for finding her worthy of the prestigious title.
She pledged to uphold the values of the kingdom and remain steadfast in supporting initiatives that promote economic prosperity, social development and the overall progress of Egbaland.
