The Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Abeokuta Branch, and Chairman of the NSE Branch Chairmen Forum, Engr. Olumayowa Ayodeji Idowu, FNSE, has added another honour to his growing list of recognitions following the conferment of the Collective Advocacy Citation Award by Broadmind Special Projects Limited.
The award, presented during the Celebrities & the Built Environment 2026 Inaugural Recognition Awards in Abuja by the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the company, Mr. Bolaji Akinfenwa, recognises Engr. Idowu’s sustained commitment to promoting professional visibility, advocacy, and unity within Nigeria’s built environment.
In the citation accompanying the award, the organisers praised Engr. Idowu’s leadership in fostering collaboration among engineering professionals and promoting initiatives that strengthen professional institutions and enhance public confidence in engineering. They noted that his contributions have continued to encourage greater cooperation across the built environment while advancing engineering as a catalyst for sustainable national development.
Speaking after receiving the award, Engr. Idowu described the recognition as both an honour and a challenge to do more for the profession. He expressed gratitude to Broadmind Special Projects Limited and dedicated the award to members of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, especially Branch Chairmen nationwide, whose shared commitment and support have contributed to the successes recorded under his leadership.
