The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency, Dr. Oluwatoyin Taiwo Emmanuel, has commended Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for his leadership and contributions to the successful conduct of the party’s primary elections, while urging party members and supporters to remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Dr. Taiwo made the remarks during a special thanksgiving service held on Tuesday at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, to celebrate his emergence as the APC candidate for the House of Representatives seat.
Addressing party faithful, supporters, and government officials at the event, the former Chief of Staff expressed gratitude to God, APC leaders, and members of the constituency for the confidence reposed in him through his overwhelming victory at the party primaries.
He paid tribute to Governor Abiodun for what he described as his sacrifices, commitment to democratic values, and efforts in ensuring a peaceful and transparent primary election process in Ogun State.
According to Dr. Taiwo, the governor’s inclusive leadership style and dedication to internal democracy helped foster unity within the party and provided a level playing field for aspirants, thereby strengthening the APC ahead of the next electoral cycle.
He noted that the political maturity demonstrated by the state leadership during the primaries had further consolidated the party’s position and prepared it for a successful outing in the forthcoming elections.
The APC standard-bearer also used the occasion to rally support for the party’s candidates, urging residents of Ogun State to remain steadfast in their commitment to progressive governance.
He specifically appealed to voters to support Senator Solomon Adeola (Yayi) in his bid for the governorship seat, while also canvassing support for Governor Abiodun’s anticipated senatorial ambition.
Dr. Taiwo stressed the need for unity among party members and supporters, saying collective efforts would be crucial to securing victory for the APC across all elective positions in the state.
The thanksgiving service ended with special prayers for peace, unity, and electoral success for APC candidates, as party leaders, supporters, and government functionaries reaffirmed their commitment to working together for the party’s victory in Yewa South, Ipokia, and Ogun State at large.
