
The Iyalode of Ibiade in Ogun Waterside Local Government Area of Ogun State, Prof. Chief Mrs. Oluwakemi Adekola Adefesobi has organised a children’s party to celebrate this year’s Ileya festival and children day, bringing joy and excitement to hundreds of children in the town.
The annual Eid-el-Adha celebration, held in local government primary school, Ibiade, attracted over 500 children from the town and neighbouring communities, who gathered to enjoy various entertaining activities specially arranged for them.
The event featured exciting games and recreational activities including bouncing castles, tall slides, dancing competitions and music performances by a live Disc Jockey (DJ), creating an atmosphere of fun and celebration for the children.
Speaking with Newsbarrelng, some of the children expressed excitement over the event, describing the 2026 edition as more entertaining and memorable.
They noted that they also attended the 2025 edition and were already looking forward to next year’s celebration.
According to them, the annual children’s party has become one of the most anticipated festive events in the area because of the happiness and entertainment it brings to children during the Ileya celebration.
The occasion also witnessed the presence of notable personalities in the community, including the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Ibiade, Pastor Chief Lukman Adedoyin Ogungbefun, who joined the children in celebrating the festive season.
Residents commended Prof. Chief Mrs. Adekola for sustaining the annual initiative, describing the gesture as a demonstration of love, generosity and commitment to the welfare and happiness of children in the community.
