Engineer Adekunle Dreher Adenuga has officially declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Ogun State on the platform of the BOOT Party (Because Of Our Tomorrow), unveiling a five-point development agenda aimed at driving inclusive growth and strengthening accountable governance in the state.
Adenuga, in a press statement made available to journalists, described his aspiration as a people-oriented movement rather than a conventional political campaign, stressing that Ogun State possesses enormous economic and industrial potential yet to fully translate into improved living conditions for residents.
According to him, despite Ogun’s strategic location, fertile land, growing industrial base and hardworking population, the state continues to grapple with challenges such as unemployment, inadequate infrastructure, unstable power supply, poor healthcare services and abandoned public projects.
The governorship aspirant stated that the BOOT Party is committed to a governance model anchored on accountability, accessibility and measurable results, noting that his decision to join the race was motivated by the need to provide practical solutions to the state’s pressing challenges.
Outlining his vision for Ogun State, Adenuga identified education, healthcare and infrastructure, industrial growth, traditional institutions and community partnerships as the five major pillars of his proposed administration.
On education, he pledged to reform technical, vocational and digital skills training to align with current labour market demands, adding that his administration would collaborate with the private sector to ensure graduates acquire employable and entrepreneurial skills.
Speaking on healthcare and infrastructure, Adenuga promised to upgrade primary healthcare centres across the state while prioritising road construction, water supply systems, rural access roads and stable power projects capable of supporting economic activities in all the 20 local government areas.
He further pledged to make Ogun State one of the most business-friendly destinations in Nigeria by reducing bureaucratic bottlenecks, protecting legitimate land ownership and supporting local manufacturers, artisans and agro-processors through incentives and improved access to opportunities.
“The time has come for a government that listens, plans and delivers. Ogun State needs competent leadership and disciplined execution to build for tomorrow,” Adenuga said, while calling on youths, entrepreneurs, farmers, professionals and community leaders to support the movement.
He reaffirmed that the BOOT Party’s mission is to build a greater Ogun State through collective effort, responsible leadership and sustainable development.
