NIS DENIES CLAIMS ON PASSPORT PAYMENT PROCESS

By News Barrel on May 5, 2026 Business, News, Security

The Nigeria Immigration Service has dismissed claims of irregularities in its passport application and payment process, describing them as false and misleading.

In a statement, the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinsola Akinlabi, says all passport applications and payments are processed exclusively through the official portal.

The Service stresses that it has not authorised any individual, organisation, or third party to act as an intermediary for passport payments.

It warns that any platform or link outside the official portal is fraudulent and should be avoided.

The statement adds that investigations are ongoing to identify the source of the false claims and hold those responsible accountable.

The Service urges Nigerians to use only the approved platform for passport services, assuring continued efforts to safeguard the integrity of its systems.
