No Casualties Recorded At Sunday’s Inauguration, YPM Coordinator Kaka Debunks Rumours

The Coordinator of the Yayi Progressives Movement (YPM), Hon. Olusegun Kaka, has dismissed widespread rumours alleging that casualties were recorded during Sunday’s inauguration of the group held at Ake Palace in Abeokuta, describing the claims as false and misleading.

In a statement issued by the State Media Director of the Yayi Progressives Movement
on Monday, Oluseun Joshua, pointed out that
Hon. Kaka clarified that the event was conducted peacefully and without any incident that could have resulted in injuries or loss of life.

He urged members of the public to disregard what he described as “baseless reports” circulating on social media.

“Contrary to the rumours being peddled in some quarters, no casualties were recorded during the inauguration. The programme was orderly, well-coordinated, and concluded without any form of disruption,” he said.

Kaka further noted that adequate security measures were put in place before and during the event, ensuring the safety of all attendees, including dignitaries, party members, and supporters.

He also expressed concern over the spread of unverified information, warning that such misinformation could create unnecessary panic.

In the same vein, the Ogun State Police Command clarified in a separate statement that a reported confrontation between rival cult groups did not occur at Ake Palace, nor within the venue of the rally, and is in no way connected to the Yayi Progressive Movement inauguration.

According to the police, the incident occurred along Wasimi Ake Road, specifically between Centenary Hall and Lotus Bank, leading towards the Ijemo Agbadu axis.
