
In a show of respect and appreciation for his enduring support to the engineering profession, Engr. Olumayowa Ayodeji Idowu, FNSE, Chairman of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Abeokuta Branch, paid a courtesy visit to Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Engr. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, PhD, FNSE, GCFR, at his residence.
The visit was aimed at appreciating the former President’s enduring support and contributions to the Engineering profession.
Baba Obasanjo, widely recognized as both a statesman and a distinguished engineer, has long exemplified leadership, vision, and commitment to national development. During the visit, Engr. Idowu highlighted the pivotal role that senior Engineering leaders play in advancing the profession, emphasizing that their guidance, mentorship, and support have been vital to the continued growth, relevance, and impact of Engineering in Ogun State and across Nigeria.

The discussion also covered the importance of collaboration between the profession and government institutions, the mentorship of emerging Engineers, and strategies to enhance the visibility and influence of Engineering in national development.
