
Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 25-year-old man, Abubakar Musa, over the alleged killing of two persons and the attempted murder of three others in the Olámbe area of the state.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi.
According to the statement, detectives attached to the Ajuwon Division apprehended the suspect after he allegedly attacked five individuals with a knife following a dispute linked to failed business dealings. The victims were said to have been trying to pacify him when the situation escalated into violence.
Police said the attack occurred at about 1:38 a.m. on April 7, 2026, leaving two victims—identified as Gbadamasi Ibrahim, 25, and Chinedu, 40—fatally wounded. Both men were confirmed dead by a medical doctor while being rushed to the hospital.
Three other victims—Mohammed Abubakar, 35; Ashiru Adamu, 25; and Paul Lawrence, 25—sustained serious injuries and are currently receiving treatment, with authorities noting they are responding.
The suspect reportedly fled the scene but was later tracked and arrested by police operatives. He is currently in custody, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and prosecution.
The Commissioner of Police in Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, condemned the incident and assured residents that justice would be served. He also urged members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious or violent activities to security agencies.
