The Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) will host governorship aspirant, Senator Iyabo Obasanjo-Bello, at its upcoming Media Parliament session in Abeokuta.
The disclosure was contained in a statement issued by the Chairman of the Media Parliament Committee, Comrade Wole Otayemi, and the Secretary, Comrade Idongesit Jonah, on Tuesday.
The event, organised by the council’s Media Parliament Committee, is part of an ongoing engagement series aimed at providing a credible platform for political actors to present their visions and policy directions to the media and the general public ahead of forthcoming elections.
Obasanjo-Bello, a leading aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), is expected to engage journalists from various national and local media organisations across Ogun State, with discussions focusing on her manifesto, development agenda and strategic plans for the state.
The media parley is scheduled to hold on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at the Iwe Iroyin Press Centre, Abeokuta, beginning at 2:00 p.m.
Otayemi noted that the engagement would provide an opportunity for in-depth discussions on key issues affecting Ogun State, while also enabling journalists to seek clarifications on policy positions and governance strategies.
He added that the committee remains committed to ensuring a professional and impactful session that will enhance public understanding of the aspirant’s plans.
The NUJ Media Parliament reaffirmed its role as a non-partisan platform dedicated to promoting informed political discourse and strengthening democratic values through media engagement.
