
Hon. Olawale Sowole, popularly known as Wale Yayi, has distributed food items and cash to about 500 Muslim faithful in Abeokuta, Ogun State Capital, as part of efforts to support them during the Ramadan period.
The outreach programme, which benefited worshippers across several mosques in the state capital, was dedicated to the Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriation and Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi.
Speaking during the exercise, Sowole said the initiative was aimed at easing the burden on Muslim faithful during the holy month of Ramadan while encouraging them to continue praying for peace, unity and progress in Nigeria.
He noted that the programme was also organised in honour of Senator Adeola in recognition of his commitment to the welfare of the people and development initiatives across Ogun West and beyond.
The distribution of the food items and cash took place at several mosques across Abeokuta, including Ita Baki Central Mosque in Elega, Fadama Central Mosque in Bode Olude, Akorede Central Mosque in Saje, Imale Nfe Alafia Mosque in Oke Saje, and Istijaba Mosque in Fadama.
Beneficiaries who spoke during the exercise expressed appreciation for the gesture, describing it as timely support during the fasting period.
They prayed for continued blessings for the donor and the success of leaders working for the development of the state.
The Ramadan outreach forms part of ongoing humanitarian efforts by supporters and associates of Senator Adeola aimed at reaching vulnerable members of the community and promoting compassion during the holy month.
