A political support group, Giant Group, under the leadership of the Director General of the Grassroot Movement for Tinubu in Ogun State, Rt. Hon. Tola Banjo, has organized its 14th Annual Ramadan Tafsir and Special Prayer, drawing a large gathering of Muslim faithful and political leaders to Ijebu-Ode.
The Igbeba Ijebu-Ode residence of the former Deputy Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly was agog and turned into a Mecca of sorts as Muslim Ummah from across Ogun State converged to draw insights and share in the spiritual blessings of the holy month of Ramadan.
The annual spiritual gathering, which has become a significant event in the religious and political calendar of the area, featured Quranic recitations, Islamic lectures, special prayers and the distribution of Ramadan gifts to attendees.
Among dignitaries present at the event were the former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Suraju Adekunmbi; Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada; leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC); political stalwarts; and various Islamic groups led by the Chief Imam of Igbeba Land, Imam Daud Salisu.

Also present was the Grand Chief Noibi Imam of Ijebu-Ode Central Mosque, Sheikh Olakeu Nureni Eyinfunjowo, alongside other notable personalities.
In his lecture titled “Reward,” the Missioner of Lutufullahi Islamic Foundation Society, Ijebu-Ode, Alhaji Abdulateef Alawiye, emphasized that all human deeds are measured by Allah, urging Muslims to embrace unity, peaceful coexistence and righteous conduct.
According to him, acts of kindness and devotion would not go unrewarded, stressing that Allah grants recompense to individuals based on their deeds while on earth.
Also speaking through Quranic recitations, the Amir of Sofwat Islamic Society of Nigeria, Sheikh Al-Imam Abdulrafih Sebutu, noted that the best among mankind are those who lead their lives with the fear of Allah, urging Muslims to remain steadfast in faith and good conduct.
Both clerics eulogized Rt. Hon. Tola Banjo for his dedication to Islam and his continued service to the grassroots, describing him as a leader who has consistently remained accessible and responsive to the needs of his people even years after leaving public office.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Host, Rt. Hon. Tola Banjo, encouraged Muslims to use the Ramadan period to move closer to Allah and recommit themselves to the teachings and ideals of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.
He said the annual Tafsir was organized to strengthen faith, promote unity and encourage moral uprightness among the people.
Banjo also expressed optimism about the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming general elections, noting that the administration’s policies would ultimately yield positive results for Nigerians.
“We remain confident that President Tinubu will secure another mandate because of his commitment to national development and economic reforms.
With patience and continued support from Nigerians, the country will witness greater progress,” he said.
Special prayers were offered for the re-election bid of President Tinubu, the actualization of the governorship ambition of Senator Adeola Olamilekan Yayi, who represents Ogun West Senatorial District, Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State and Nigeria as a whole.
The event also featured the distribution of Ramadan gifts, including food items, to guests and participants as part of the group’s humanitarian outreach during the holy month.
