L-R: Executive Secretary, Ogun Conference, Pastor Olaifa M.B, Executive Secretary, Western Nigeria Union Conference, Pastor (Dr) Ogunsanya S.O; President, Ogun Conference, Pastor Ogunseitan A.S; President, Western Nigeria Union Conference, Pastor (Dr) Adeleye E.A; Treasurer, Western Nigeria Union Conference, Elder Edafe D.E; and Treasurer, Ogun Conference, Elder Onatunde H.O

The President of Seventh-day Adventist Church, Western Nigeria Union Conference, WNUC, Pastor (Dr.) Ezekiel Atolagbe Adeleye has charged the President and other officers of Ogun Conference of the Church to brace up for the tasks ahead and ask for the mountains just as Caleb asked, for the mountain from Joshua, instead of conquered areas, when the Israelites entered into the Promised Land.

Pastor Adeleye who gave the charge on Saturday at the Dedication Service to wrap up a Special Constituency Meeting of the Ogun Conference held on Thursday, February 19th, 2026 at Babcock Academy, Abeokuta, told the elected Officers to be ready to face and conquer mountains as they perform their duties.

The Western Nigeria Union Conference President, in his sermon entitled, “Give Me This Mountain”, with Bible texts taken from Numbers Chapter 13, likened Ogun state, especially the state capital, Abeokuta, to mountains which must be entered with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Acknowledging that there are challenges in carrying out the task, Pastor Adeleye assured that with God on their side, the church will be able to penetrate all towns in the state with the Gospel, advising them to show love to the people just as Christ did while on earth.

“Strategically look at what to do to enter Ogun State with the Gospel and prayerfully move in. Always use Christ’s method which has remained the best”, the WNUC President advised.

He further charged the Conference Officers, Directors and Executive Committee Members to work together as a team in order to conquer the mountains before them.
“Are you looking for the valleys of comfort instead of the mountains where there are challenges? Be ready for greater responsibilities. But focus on Jesus Christ who is capable of making the mountains to be plain and your challenges will be lesser”.

The Western Nigeria Union Conference President also called on every member of the church in the Conference to contribute their quota towards preparing people in the state for Christ’s Second Coming.

In a remark, the President of Ogun Conference, Pastor Adeyinka Samuel Ogunseitan, assured that efforts would be doubled in order to enter the unentered areas of the state.

The elected Officers of the Ogun Conference are Pastor Adeyinka Samuel Ogunseitan as President, Pastor Moses Olaifa, Executive Secretary and Elder Hezekiah Onatunde as Treasurer.
