
The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Abeokuta Branch, marked the sixth day of its 2026 Engineering Week with a meaningful Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative through a visit to Stella Obasanjo Children’s Home, GRA, Ibara, Abeokuta. The outreach underscored the Branch’s commitment to community welfare and humanitarian service.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairman of NSE Abeokuta Branch, Engr. Olumayowa Ayodeji Idowu, FNSE, emphasized that the Engineering profession carries a responsibility beyond technical development. He reiterated the need for Engineers to actively support and uplift their communities as part of social responsibility.
“As Engineers, our responsibility extends beyond building structures, roads, and bridges; we are also committed to building lives and strengthening our communities. Today, as part of the 2026 Engineering Week, we are here not just to donate gifts but to share love, hope, and encouragement with the children of this home,” the Chairman said.
The visit was filled with warm and heartfelt interactions as members of the Branch engaged with the children and presented essential supplies to the home. The initiative reinforced the Branch’s culture of compassion and its dedication to using the Engineering platform as a force for social good.
The CSR outreach remains one of the highlights of the 2026 Engineering Week, reflecting NSE Abeokuta’s enduring commitment to humanity and community development.
