The Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) in Ogun State, Morakinyo Akinleye has revealed that a total of 1,142 complaints were received between September 2024 and December 2025, with 783 of them resolved.
Akinleye stated this on Thursday while fielding questions from newsmen at the January Media Parliament and Guest Forum organized by the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ) Ogun State Council.
According to him, 359 of the cases amounting to 31.44 per cent are still ongoing, maintaining that the commission remains committed to effective service delivery.
He disclosed that on assumption to office, he inherited 520 complaints as at September 2024, out of which 343 were resolved, while 177 remained pending.
Akinleye explained that the commission’s primary responsibility is to receive complaints from the general public against any government agency or private establishment, and assured that the concerns will be investigated with a view to finding amicable resolution.
He said, “520 complaints were inherited as at September 2024, when I assumed office. Out of which 343 complaints (65.96%) were resolved, while 177 complaints (34.04%) remained pending.
“Between September 2024 and December 2025, the Ogun State Office received 622 new Complaints, of which 440 Complaints (70.74%) were successfully resolved, leaving 182 Complaints (29.26%) ongoing.
“In total, Ogun State Office handled 1,142 Complaints from September 2024 to December 2025. Out of these, 783 cases (68.56%) were resolved, while 359 cases (31.44%) are still ongoing, reflecting the Commission’s commitment to effective service delivery.”
The federal commissioner while opining that it has the complete authority to investigate any government agency and report any erring organisation to the federal government, highlighted the successful collaboration and support received from various government agencies and media outlets, noting that these partnerships have contributed to the state’s achievements under his leadership.
Meanwhile, Akinleye urged members of the public to contact any of the agency’s five offices or its social media platforms with their complaints, asserting that the commission is out to work for the people, address their complaints, and serve them at no cost.
Welcoming the commissioner earlier, the NUJ Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju said the forum would serve as a platform to inform the general public about the activities of the agency and what they stand to benefit from it.
