An aspirant for the Ogun State House of Assembly, Abeokuta South Constituency II, under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Olalekan Jiboku, has extended warm Christmas greetings to Christians in the state and across Nigeria.
Jiboku described the Christmas season as a period of love, sacrifice and reflection, urging Christians to embrace the core values exemplified by the birth of Jesus Christ, particularly peace, humility and compassion for one another.
In his goodwill message issued to newsmen on Wednesday, the assembly hopeful called on residents of Abeokuta South Constituency II to use the festive period to strengthen unity and peaceful coexistence, irrespective of religious or political differences.
He noted that Ogun State has remained a model of religious harmony over the years, stressing the need for citizens to continue to uphold tolerance and mutual respect in their daily interactions.
Jiboku further encouraged Christians to remember the less privileged during the celebration by extending kindness and support to those in need, adding that such gestures reflect the true spirit of Christmas.
According to him, sustainable development can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and unity, which he said should be the collective responsibility of all residents of the constituency and the state at large.
The APC aspirant reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented leadership, stating that his aspiration to represent Abeokuta South Constituency II is driven by a desire to contribute meaningfully to grassroots development.
He emphasized that, if given the mandate, he would prioritize policies and initiatives that promote youth empowerment, improved social welfare and inclusive development within the constituency.
Jiboku also used the opportunity to pray for continued peace and progress in Ogun State, expressing optimism that the coming year would bring greater opportunities and improved living conditions for the people.
He wished Christians a joyous Christmas celebration and a prosperous New Year, urging them to remain hopeful and steadfast as they work collectively towards a better and more prosperous society.
