Ogun Waterside is bounded in the West by Imobi, Ijebu East LG, in the North and East by Okitipupa, Odigbo and Ilaje LGs of Ondo State, and in the South by Epe and Ibeju Lekki LGs of Lagos State, and Atlantic Ocean.
With an Estimated Population of 103,200 (as in 2006 census), It covers an Area of about 1,000 Square Kilometers with some towns and villages on the fringes of the Atlantic Ocean.
Ogun Waterside is the only area of Ogun State with a Coastline on the Bright of Benin.
The people of Ogun Waterside are Yorubas of Ijebu, Ikale and Ilaje, who observe the same customs, uphold the same values, beliefs and respect similar traditions as other Yorubas, but shape to a large extent by their amphibious environment among swamp, large waterbodies such as creeks, rivers and lagoons as well as forest.
They practice Christianity, Islam and Traditional Religion.
The Local Government headquarter is situated at Abigi at 6°29’N 4°24’E, it has Three (3) Area Offices at Iwopin, Ode Omi and Itebu Manuwa.
Ogun Waterside is divided into Ten (10) Political Wards i.e. Iwopin, Oni, Ibiade, Lukogbe/Ilusin, Abigi, Efire, Ayila/Itebu, Ayede/Lomiro, Imakun/Irokun and Ode Omi.
It has One (1) State Constituency, and belong to Ijebu North, Ijebu East & Ogun Waterside Federal Constituency, under Ogun East Senatorial District.
