…urges them not to lose hope
The Association of Humble and Obedient Youth, AHOY, Abeokuta Chapter has donated cash gifts and packs of water to no fewer than 25 patients on admission at the Federal Medical Centre, Idiaba Abeokuta, to augment their medical bills.
The AHOY Group led by its Abeokuta President, Adeagbo Babatunde Itunu on Monday, July, 29th alongside the members of executive visited the medical facility to put smiles on the faces of the patients who were still on their sick beds recuperating.
Adeagbo in an interview with journalists said that AHOY under the umbrella body of Pirates is a distinguished group known for its philanthropic gesture and always take it as responsibility to bridge the gaps between the rich and the less privileged.
He maintained that the outreach was also an avenue to raise the hope of the patients that in no distant time, they will be back on their feet while wishing them quick recovery.
The group also used the opportunity to appeal to well meaning Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of giving to those in need especially during this harsh economic situation in Nigeria.
According to Him. “We are donating some amount of money and packs of water to 25 patients.
“This is what we expect from people who are well to do in the society to support people who need help and we should be able to give back to society.
“The outreach is away to give hope to those who are losing hope.
Speaking further on what the group stands for, the President AHOY, Abeokuta Division said ” AHOY stands for ourselves, we do things among ourselves, we are pirates to be precise. It is one of our tenets to give back to the society and that is very important to us, nobody is giving us any money, we contributed the money among ourselves with the aim of putting smiles on the faces of the patients who benefited.
“The patients should not lose hope, they will be back again and do better things in life.”
With Excitement and smiles, the beneficiaries and their family members appreciated the gesture extended to them.
The group was conducted round some of the wards which include Female Renal Ward, Male Cardio Ward, Gynae Ward, Male Medical Ward, Children Ward, Accident and Emergency Ward among others where the money and the packs of water were presented to the beneficiaries.
